Bertha Marie (Lewis) Ingraham

HUDSON FALLS – Bertha Marie (Lewis) Ingraham, 93, of Locust Street, Hudson Falls passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019.

Born on February 23, 1926 in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late George Henry and Gertrude Mae (Beaudoin) Lewis.

Bertha married her High School Sweetheart, John Herbert Ingraham (the son of Herbert L. and Susan (Baker) Ingraham) on March 23, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls. They were married for 69 years (18 days short of 70 years) up to the day John Herbert Ingraham passed on March 5, 2016. They celebrated their honeymoon on Garnet Lake in Garnet Lake, NY.

Bertha was employed in 1944 doing clerical work for The Griffin Lumber Co. of Hudson Falls. In 1945, she was employed by The Imperial Paint and Pigment Company in Queensbury, also doing clerical work.

Bertha was a devoted and loving mother of six children: Jack Edward Ingraham, Robert Lewis Ingraham, Gerald Elliot Ingraham, Jane Eileen Barsukoff, Diane Marie Cabral and Katherine Elaine Jones.

Bertha’s favorite pastimes involved family gatherings, cooking, baking her favorite “Never Fail Chocolate Cake”, a family recipe which was handed down from her mother (from whom was handed down by her mother). She also enjoyed having Fish Fry’s with her famous cottage cheese pancakes and spoiling all her grandchildren with love.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Herbert Ingraham; her parents, George Henry and Gertrude Mae (Beaudoin) Lewis; and her siblings, George Lewis, Donald Lewis and Violet (Lewis) Cox.

Survivors include: her sister, Nancy (Lewis) Hutyanszki; her children, Jack Edward Ingraham, Robert Lewis Ingraham, Gerald Elliot Ingraham, Jane Eileen Barsukoff, Diane Marie Cabral and Katherine Elaine Jones; her 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

At the request of Bertha, there will be no services.

John Herbert Ingraham

IngrahamHUDSON FALLS – John Herbert Ingraham, Locust St., Hudson Falls, passed away, March 5, 2016, after a short illness.

Born on September, 26, 1926 at 22 North St., Hudson Falls. He was the son of Herbert Leo and Susan Ella (Baker) Ingraham.

John married the love of his life, Bertha Marie Lewis (Daughter of George Henry and Gertrude Mae (Beaudoin) Lewis, on March 23, 1946, at the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls and were married for 69 years (18 Days short of 70 Years).

John was employed formerly by the Hudson Falls Paper Co.  He then served in the Armed Services from 1945 to 1947. In July 1958 John was employed by the Purdue Frederick Pharmaceutical Co., in Norwalk, CT. (Formerly known as the G.F. Harvey Co. in Saratoga Springs) as a Supervisor of Tabulating and then advanced to Data Processing Manager and Retired July 1, 1982, at the age of 55, but remained as a consultant for many years.

John’s favorite pastimes involved outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing, hiking and horseshoes, along with family gatherings for a heaping patter of freshly fried fish and several tall hot stacks of cottage cheese pancakes and a good game of Pinochle.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert L. and Susan Ingraham and his siblings, Ruth LaPoint, Carl Gertrude Rayno, Doris Pincheon and Kenneth.

Survivors include, his wife of 69 years, Bertha M. Ingraham; his children, Jack Robert, Gerald, Jane Barsukoff, Diane Cabral and Katherine Jones; his 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no services.

Mrs. Mabel Ingraham

Ingraham, jackieQUEENSBURY – Mrs. Mabel Ingraham, best known by all as Jackie, died Saturday (April 27, 2013) at The Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Glens Falls, after a short illness.

 Jackie was born December 18, 1927, in Hudson Falls, the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Lewis) Jackson.

 Jackie was a retired office administrator for the local radio station WWSC. For the last 43 years she was married to the love of her life Frank Ingraham.  Jackie along with Frank’s family, his mother Mary and her husband, Mike Murdock, his sister Lila and her husband, Cornie Rabine) did everything together for decades; vacations, dancing, horses, golf, and of course the Elks. They were a couple made in heaven, although they never had children. They loved their nieces and nephews and all their children. Jackie had many friends but she was blessed with two longtime friends, Ellen “Pat” Patter and Beverly Legault.

 Jackie was preceded in death by husband of 42 years, Frank Ingraham.; her father and mother Joseph and Florence Jackson; sister and brother in law, Edward and Catherine Napier and her sister in law, Lila Rabine.

 Survivors include three cousins Joyce Wantuch, Jean Schmid, and Bertha Lewis Ingraham; her nieces, Christine Louder, Missy Rabine, Lisa Morris, Leigh Toomey; nephews James Napier, Joseph Napier, David Napier, Robert Rabine, Michael Rabine, and James Gitto,

 Friends and family may call from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday (today) at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

 Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday at the United Methodist Church of Hudson Falls,   227 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

 Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward,
