Clifford “Bud” H. Duval

DuvalHUDSON FALLS – Clifford “Bud” H. Duval, 91, a lifelong resident of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at The Stanton Nursing and Rehab. Center in Queensbury.

Born on October 21, 1922 in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Cleophaus and Nellie (Wallace) Duval.

On August 29, 1946, he married Dorothy Beatrice LaPoint, in St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.  They Spent 47 wonderful years together, until her death in 1994.  He later met and married, Charlotte A. Simon in Greenwich on his 78th birthday, October 21, 2000.

Cliff attended Hudson Falls High School and for over 30 years worked for Hercules, Inc., in Queensbury, retiring as a Chemical Color Operator.  Cliff played in the Drum and Bugle Corps.

Cliff loved woodworking, sports and traveling.  His most cherished trip was the time he brought his children and grandchildren to Disney World.

Besides his wives, he was predeceased by his sisters, Eleanor Gregory and Melina Bain, brothers, Armand Duval, Raymond Duval, Sr., George Duval, and Andre Duval.

Surviving family members include, his son,  Gary (JoAnn) Duval of Glens Falls; his daughters, Colleen Vannier (Robert) and Cynthia Schoelermann (James) Both of Queensbury; one sister, Emilee Blondin of Hudson Falls; one brother, Pierre (Pauline) Duval of Hartford; his sister-in-law, Carol Duval of Hudson Falls; seven grandchildren, Christopher  (Lorraine) Duval of Queensbury, Joshua (Stephanie) Duval of Richmond, VA, Danielle Duval of Glens Falls, Robert Vannier of Schenectady, Jamie Hack of Glens Falls, Shannon (Jeremy) Carner of Glens Falls and Shawn Schoelermann of Glens Falls.  He is also survived by his six great grandchildren, Kayla Hack,  Kamden and Ella Carner of Glens Falls, Emily Duval of Hudson Falls and Keegan and Caiden Vannier of Schenectady; additionally, Cliff’s special and dear friend of the past year, Peggy Hastings.

Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m.  on Friday evening, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7p.m. on Friday, following the calling hour, at the funeral home.

Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
