Jennie M. Cronin

Cronin Jennie 1FORT EDWARD – Jennie M. (Aurelia) Cronin, 94, of Putnam Ave. passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Haynes House of Hope in Granville.

Born on October 9, 1922, in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rose (DiNucci) Aurelia.

Jennie attended Fort Edward High School.

Cronin Jennie 2On June 25, 1950, she married C. Paul Cronin at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward. He passed away on February 24, 2015, after 64 years of marriage.

She worked for Chase Bag, formerly in the town of Moreau and then for Scott Paper Co. in Fort Edward.

Jennie was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.   She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Iuliucci, Carmela Greco-Fish and Olympia Ruotolo and four brothers, Nicholas Aurelia, Louis Aurelia, Angelo Aurelia and Edward Aurelia.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Zeno and her husband, Ralph of Gansevoort, Karen Tomasovic and her husband, Anthony of Fort Edward, her sons, Daniel Cronin and his wife, Susan of Moreau and David Cronin and his wife, Laurie of Fort Edward; her grandchildren, Tara Cronin, (Keith Ottens) Colleen Cronin, Shawn (Analise Nash) Cronin, Matthew (Amanda) Zeno. Nicole (Michael) Tomasovic-Egan, Jacqueline (Matt Kuzinia) Cronin and Michael (Kennedy) Cronin; her great-grandchildren, Eliza and Wyatt Ottens, Haley Cronin, Mya Egan, Corrina Zeno and Mason Cronin; a brother, Ralph Aurelia of Fort Edward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church on Broadway on Fort Edward with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Avenue in the Town of Fort Edward.

The family suggests that memorials in Jennie’s name take the form of donations to the Haynes House of Hope, S.R. 149, Granville, NY 12832 or St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward

C. Paul Cronin

Cronin1Cronin2FORT EDWARD – C. Paul Cronin, 89, of Fort Edward, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the Fort Hudson Healthcare Facility in the town of Fort Edward.

Born on October 15, 1925, in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Bernard and Anna (Campbell) Cronin.

He was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Astoria, a light cruiser in the Pacific Theatre.

On June 25, 1950, he married Jennie M. Aurelia at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.

Before the war, Paul worked at the Harris Department store, formerly located in Hudson Falls.  Upon returning to Hudson Falls, he again worked at that store and then worked for General Electric Company before working at Scott Paper Company until his retirement in 1983.

Paul was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward where he was active in the usher’s society.

He was a 60year member of the American Legion in Fort Edward and was past Commander.  He was a member of the Instrument Society of America.

Spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities was very important to Paul.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one brother Bernard Cronin and four sisters, Marion Sheldon, Doris Carroway, Joan Monrian and Susan Brayman.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 64 years, Jennie M. (Aurelia) Cronin of Fort Edward include; his daughters, Susan Zeno and her husband, Ralph of Gansevoort, Karen Tomasavic and her husband, Anthony of Fort Edward, his sons, Daniel Cronin and his wife, Susan of Moreau and David Cronin and his wife, Laurie of Fort Edward; his grandchildren, Tara Cronin (Keith Ottens) Colleen Cronin, Shawn Cronin, Matthew Zeno and his wife Amanda, Nicole Tomasovic Egan and her husband, Mike Jacqueline Cronin (Matt) and Michael Cronin (Kennedy) four great-grandchildren, Eliza Ottens, Wyatt Ottens, Haley Cronin and Mya Egan; his brother in law, Ralph Aurelia of Fort Edward and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church on Broadway in Fort Edward, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Avenue in the Town of Fort Edward.
