Helen P. Cain

Cain, HelenHUDSON FALLS – Helen P. Cain, 93, a longtime Hudson Falls resident, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the Kingsway nursing Center in Schenectady.

Born on April 27, 1920, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Holmes) Morency.

Her husband, Frank Cain, whom she married in 1941, passed away in 1983.

Helen worked for WT Grant, formerly in Hudson Falls and then for many years as a waitress for the Lantern Lodge in Saratoga Springs.

Her life was dedicated to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she is predeceased by a son Ronald Cain and a brother, William Morency.

Helen is survived by one son, Frank W. Cain and his wife Audrey of Hudson Falls; her daughters, Carolyn Cain Breckheimer and her husband, Edward of Syracuse, Marilyn Salamone and her husband, Frank of Schenectady and Sharon Smith of Troy; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great grandchild; her sisters, Margaret Berrigan of Glen Lake and Marie Northrup of Fort Edward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 on Tuesday, today, at the Carleton Funeral home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 on Wednesday, at the funeral home .

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Ave. in the town of Fort Edward.

Helen’s family suggests that memorial donations in her memory be made to the American Heart Association, 959 Route 9,  Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, NY 12804.
