David Harold Brown

HUDSON FALLS – David Harold Brown, 78, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with dementia.

Born on February 14, 1943, at his home in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Edward and Evelyn (Lamere) Brown, Sr.

In his younger years, David worked for his uncle, Cal Gilmore’s farm and John O’Hara’s farm and then worked for Harder Silo for many years.  Following working for Harter, he was employed as a security guard for Adirondack Community College before retiring.

David married the love of his life, Darlene Barrett on July 4, 1968.  She passed away on July 28, 2014, after 46 wonderful years of marriage.

He loved to joke around with everyone, play his records, 45 and vinyl and listening to music. David especially cherished spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Edward and Evelyn (Lamere) Brown, Sr. and wife Darlene (Barrett) Brown, he was predeceased by his son, David Brown, his great granddaughter, Raelyn, his grandparents, Roy and Alta Brown and Walter and Lucy Lamere and his brother, Edward Brown, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Winchell and her husband Edwin Winchell, Jr.; his granddaughters, Ashely Winchell and Natasha Winchell; his great grandchildren, Joshua Ball and Everleigh  Hafner; his brothers, Walter Brown and his wife, Joyce, Mike Brown and his wife, Dorothy, Greg Brown and his wife, Sue and Kevin Brown and his wife, Jody; his two sisters, Peggy Spaulding and her husband, Chris and Sharon Burt and her husband, Gene; his sister in law, Irene Borwn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Barbara F. (Brown) Rich

HOOSICK FALLS – Barbara F. (Brown) Rich, 67, of Hoosick Falls passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 28, 1952 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of William Brown and Ruth (Gray) Bennett.

On February 20, 1975 Barbara married her loving husband, Keith Rich, in Hudson Falls.

Her hobbies include crocheting, watching television, and babysitting.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her step-father John Bennett; and her maternal grandparents, George and Florence Gray.

Including her husband of 43 years, Keith Rich of Hoosick Falls, she is survived by her two children, Julie Rich of Hoosick Falls and Timothy Rich and his fiancé, Cassandra Wilkins of Hoosick; her brother, John Brown and significant other,  Cindy ­­­­­­­­Chard of Fort Edward; her sister, Colleen LaPoint of Hoosick Falls; her uncle, Larry Gray; her nieces, Jessica LaPoint and Nicole Richardson and her significant other, Terry Randolph; her nephew, Brian LaPoint; many cousins; and many who were considered her grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A graveside service at Moss Street Cemetery, in the town of Kingsbury, will be announced at a later date, in the spring.

Zachery T. Brown

Brown, ZacharySOUTH GLENS FALLS Zachery T. Brown, 16, of South Glens Falls , passed away unexpectedly due to injuries received in a motor vehicle accident on  Thursday, August 31, 2017, in the town of Moreau

Born on December 9, 2000, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Justin Brown and Donna Randle.

As a student of South Glens Falls High School, he was attending BOCES in their Step-Up program.

He loved hanging out with family and friends, especially Nana and Poppa. He liked camping and hiking and fishing. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and was loved by everyone who knew him.

Zachery was predeceased by his grand parents Darlene and Marcel Hemingway.

Survivors in addition to his parents, include his sister, Justina-Marie Brown of South Glens Falls; his grandparents, Thomas Randle and Donna Smith of Fort Edward; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gospel Lighthouse Church on LaCrosse St. in Hudson Falls.

Services will be conducted on Wednesday, following the calling hours at 7 p.m. at the church with The Rev. Paul Mead, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be private.

Eva O. Brown

brownQUEENSBURY – Eva O. Brown, 92, a longtime Queensbury resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January. 22, 2016.

Born on February 5, 1923, in Queensbury, she was the daughter of the late Ovide and Mary (Jensen) Prince.

Eva was a graduate of Glens Falls High School.

On December 15, 1946, she married O’Neil Brown at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. They had met while out square dancing and for their honeymoon they traveled to New York City and square danced to the music of Guy Lombardo and His Orchestra.   O’Neil passed away on October 1, 2009.

Eva worked for General Electric, Clark Brothers Glove Factory in Glens Falls and retired from J & J Lingerie also in Glens Falls.

Eva will be remembered most for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put everyone else ahead of herself. She is fondly remembered for her warm, wonderful smile and loving disposition.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings, Emede Prince, Ovide Prince, Jr., Emma Johnson, Frederick Prince and a daughter in law, Vicki Brown.

She is survived by her children, Fred Brown and his wife, Doreen of Bolton Landing, Connie Thompson and her husband, Bruce of Pompano Beach, FL and Beth Hajeck and her husband, Dan of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Dr. Ashli Brown and her husband Casey Johnson, Lexi North, Enjae Sabo, Danika Hajeck, Christopher Hajeck; a great-grandson, Ryan North; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday January 27, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

She will be interred with her beloved husband at a later date at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Veteran’s Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

Jean M. Brown

Brown, JeanFORT EDWARD –Jean M. Brown, 74, of Fort Edward, passed away into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, March 27, 2014.

 Born on January 28, 1940, in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Warren and The late Margaret Ann (Lambardo) Campanile.

 Jean attended Hudson Falls High School.  Shortly after high school, she married Theodore Brown on April 26, 1959.

 For many years, Jean was a Lunch and Recess Aid for Fort Edward Union Free School.

 She enjoyed participating in activities with the Greater Glens Falls Senior Citizens Center, going out to lunch with her three best friends, Judy, Linda and Mary Lou, shopping and in her younger years, square dancing with her husband.  Jean never missed any of her children’s activities, she lovingly referred to herself as the family taxi service.   Most of all Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren.

 Her parents predeceased her.

 Jean is survived by her four children, Scott Brown and his wife, Maria of Arizona, Tim Brown and his wife, Heidi of Queensbury, Todd Brown and his wife, Amy of Queensbury and Margaret-Jean Farr and her husband, Brodie of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Shawn Mills, Zachary Brown, Nicholas Brown and Emma Farr; her great grandchild, Eric Mills; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.

 A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1 at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.

 Rite of Committal will follow at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury.
