Shirley Ann Parker

ParkerWHITEHALL – Shirley Ann Parker, 82, of Whitehall, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016.

Born on August 9, 1933 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Leland Hams and Mae Johnston.

On October 11, 1952,  she married Leonard M. Parker in Fort Ann.  He passed away Sept 1, 1999.

Shirley loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They were everything to her. She also enjoyed NASCAR, crosswords, scratch offs and trips to the casino.

Besides her husband and parents, two daughters, Daina Parker and Diane Dixon also passed away before her.

Survivors include two sons, David Parker and his wife, Linda, of Queensbury and Daniel Parker and his companion Janie Burnham of Queensbury; six daughters, Debbie Parker and Dawn Donnelly, both of Queensbury, Darlene Roblee and her husband, Joe, of Hudson Falls, Deanna Stark and her companion, Paul Winchell of Fort Ann, Denise Palmer of Old Forge, and Daphne Tripp and her companion Brian Tucker of Argyle; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and several cousins.  She is also survived by her significant other, Robert “George” Steves of Whitehall; his two daughters, Kathy Steves of Whitehall and Sheila and Steve Hluschewskyj  of Massachusetts; his two sons, Bob and Beth Steves of Hartford and Ray and Diane Steves of Oregon and Shirley and George’s special love, their dog Molly.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, with the Rev. Patti Girard, pastor of the Hartford Yoked Parish, officiating.

Shirley’s family suggests memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Shirley’s family would like to thank the staff at Glens Falls Hospital and a special thanks to Denise Palmer and her children for supporting Daphne in taking care of their mom and Daphne wishes to thank her children, Robert Tripp, Jr., Katelynn Tripp and Briana Alexander for their love and support they gave to their mom as she took care of their grandmother.

    I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley on a few occasions and she loved to visit and share family stories and recipes.
