Robert “Bob” Borngesser

Borngesser, PhotoGLENS FALLS – Robert “Bob” Borngesser, 67, of Glens Falls, passed away on May 31, 2017, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness.

Born on November 23, 1949 in Union City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Raymond and Doris Louise (Boneni) Borngesser.

Bob graduated from Union Hill High School in New Jersey and soon after enlisted in the US Army.  He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, who served as a medic.   For his brave actions, Bob received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

On September 21, 1986, he married Lynn Maturo at Lady of Fatima Church in North Bergen, New Jersey.

Bob was Commander of the American Legion and also a member of the VFW, both on Cooper Street in Glens Falls.

Bob enjoyed telling jokes and playing computer games. He always tried to make the best out of a bad situation. Bob was quoted as saying “you have to have a sense of humor to keep you going.”   He always hid his pain to those around him.   Bob had a sensitive side, especially when reading greeting cards.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David Borngesser and his sister, Ruth Hacker.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lynn Borngesser of Glens Falls; his two daughters, Jillian Borngesser and Kaitlin Borngesser; three grandchildren, Isaiah, Hector and Joseph; his siblings, Charles Borngesser, Doris Sinclair, Ellie Lopez, Wayne Borngesser, Amy Borngesser, Paul Borngesser, Raymond Borngesser, Ronald Borngesser, Kenny Borngesser and Jackie Semeidi; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 11a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Gerald B. H.  Solomon – Saratoga National Cemetery in Stillwater.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post 233 of Glens Falls, Cooper Street, Glens Falls, NY  12801 or to any local VFW of your choice.
