Raymond R. Bean

BeanSOUTH GLENS FALLS & MALTA – Raymond R. Bean, Sr., 76, of Malta and formerly of South Glens Falls, went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born on October 12, 1939 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Clarence L. and Helene G. (LaVoy) Bean.

Ray was a graduate of Glens Falls High School and on July 2, 1988, he married his best friend, Louise Loveland, in the park, in South Glens Falls.

Ray was employed for many years at Patrick Vending and Donohue & Higgins, both in Glens Falls.

He was an outdoor man who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping in the Adirondacks.  Ray was also an avid reader who loved Louis L’Amour books and playing bingo.  He was an animal lover, having enjoyed many pets throughout his life.

Besides his parents, Ray was predeceased by his two sons, Raymond Bean, Jr. and Douglas Bean, his sister, Virginia Case and his sister in law, Carol Bean.

Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Louise Bean of Malta; his children, Richard Bean and his wife, April of Ft. Plain, Arthur Bean of Rome, Dennis Loveland and his wife, Linda of Newport, TN, Katherine Loveland of Hudson Falls and Doraine Miller and her husband, Patrick of Ballston Spa;  many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his brothers and sister, William Bean and his wife, Iola of Denver, CO, Elizabeth Bly and her husband, Donald of Hudson Falls and Clarence Bean ,Jr. of Queensbury; his in-laws; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to the animal charity of one’s choice.
