R. Butch Davis

HUDSON FALLS- R. Butch Davis, 50, of Hudson Falls, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Born on July 17, 1967, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Richard and Theresa (Sherwood) Davis of South Glens Falls.

Butch worked in construction. He loved hot rods, hunting and fishing, but spending time with his family was his greatest joy.

Butch was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and a best friend to many. He was always willing to help any and all in need.

He is survived by his wife, Karen (Smith) Davis of Hudson Falls; his mother and father, Richard and Theresa (Sherwood) Davis of South Glens Falls; his three sons, Thacker Burden and his wife, Amber of Oklahoma, Phillip Smith of Luzerne, Branden Smith and his significant other, Rachel Hayslette of Luzerne; his three grandchildren, Wyatt Burden, Corrinexc Burden, Sophia Smith; his siblings, Paula Leasure and her husband, Dan of Florida; Carla Franklin and her husband, DJ of South Carolina, Richard Davis and his wife, Kim of Glens Falls; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family, the Wells, McDonalds and Steve’s.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 8, 2018, from 4-6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.

Funeral services will be private.

    One of the best friends I have ever had. Butch was always willing to lend a helping hand, never had to be asked . His family’s loss will be felt by all of us who knew him.
