Philip VanDoran

VanDoranGLENS FALLS – Philip VanDoran, 58, of Glens Falls, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness.

Born on November 17, 1958, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late James and Jane (Berrigan) VanDoran.

Philip loved the Young and the restless, his cat “Santana,” who was everything to him. He thought of his nieces and nephews as his own kids. Philip always loved a good time and playing poker with his family. He loved the outdoors, sitting by the fire, camping, and fishing. He was a fun and caring person to be around.

In addition to his parents, Philip was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Courville; and his brother, James VanDoran.

Survivors include, his siblings, Pat Burch and her husband, Ron of Queensbury, Jon VanDoran and his wife, Chris of Pulaski, TN, his brother in law, Mark Courville of Queensbury; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews, several cousins; and his special friends, Ed McDougall and Ed Longley.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Service will take place at 1:15 p.m. immediately following calling hours at the funeral home, with The Reverend Thomas Babiuch officiating.

A Rite of Committal will be held following the service at Union Cemetery.

Donations in Philip’s name may be made out to the C.R. Woods Cancer Center, 102 Park St, Glens Falls, NY 12801.

    Although it’s going on 50 years since we were growing up together down on Derby St., sometimes it seems like it was yesterday.
