Philip J. Duckett

Duckett, PhilipFORT EDWARD – Philip J. Duckett passed away peacefully, after a short illness, on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the Glens Falls Hospital, with his family by his side.

Phil was born on October 10, 1955 in Glens Falls and grew up in the Fort Edward area with his parents, Philomea and Melvin Rock.

He was a graduate from Hudson Falls High School and a proud Army Veteran.

At an early age, Phil learned on his own to play the drums.   This talent he enjoyed throughout his life.   Phil was an avid New York Yankee fan and also like to bowl with his friends.

He worked in various restaurants in the Glens Falls area, where he met many people.

Phil was predeceased by his twin sisters, Angeline Ann and Ella Marie Duckett.

Besides his parents, Philomena and Melvin Rock, he is survived by his wife, Brandie Duckett; his father, Walter Duckett; his children, Rebecca Cook Beaty (John), Timothy Cook, Angela Duckett and Zachary Duckett; his step son, Kyle Bannin and William Trombley; his grandchildren, Joshua Bannin, Kaiden Miner, Cierra Beaty Hannah Beaty, Aubrie Beaty and Cameran Cook; several aunts and uncles; and Phil’s companion, Cindy.

 

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to any Veteran’s organization.

    I have many memories of Phil! A childhood friend of my son, who always kept in touch. So sorry to hear of his passing! Rest easy Phil !
