Peggy J. (Meade) Mattison

Mattison, PeggyFORT EDWARD – Peggy J. (Meade) Mattison, 62, of Sisson Road, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, October 23, 2017, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

Born on December 28, 1954, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Betty (Dickinson) Meade.

Peggy attended South Glens Falls High School and continued her education, receiving her LPN in 1985.

On August 13, 1972, she married her high school sweetheart, Gary L. Mattison.   Together they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.

After receiving her LPN, Peggy began her nursing career at the Glens Falls Hospital.  She was a very compassionate loving nurse, who enjoyed taking care of her patients.   Cooking was a passion for Peggy.  She enjoyed discussing and trying out new recipes.  She used her husband, Gary as a willing taste tester for the recipes she found on cooking shows.  Peggy also grew her own herbs to add flavor for her recipes.

She deeply loved her family.  Her grandchildren were the center of her life.  Peggy truly loved being around her siblings.  One of the greatest joys was going out to breakfast with her brothers and sisters.

Peggy was an avid reader of murder mysteries, especially James Patterson and romance novels.  She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Mattison of Fort Edward; her children, Christopher L. Mattison and his wife, Jennifer of Moreau and Jamie D. Stratton and her husband, Mike of Bennington, VT.; her grandchildren, Bradley Geroux, Colby Geroux, Carson Geroux, Michael Stratton, Damion Stratton, Evan Mattison and Nicholas Miller; her siblings,  Donna Palmer and her husband, Ralph, Daniel Meade, Sr., and his wife, Linda, Christine Lyons and her husband, Nelson, Michael Meade and his wife, Helen and Peter Meade and his wife, Marie;  her nieces and nephews, Shawn, Brian, Dan Jr., Ted, Heather, Dawn, Denise, Desmond, John, Tiffany and Mark; her aunts, Rita, Sally, Ginny, Betty, Jeanne, Mary and Linda; her uncles, Ed and Al; and several cousins.

Services will be private.
