Nancy Carol Martin

Martin, NancyHUDSON FALLS – Nancy Carol Martin, 76, of Hudson Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2nd, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the Glens Falls Hospital, following a long battle with cancer.

She was the only child of Helen (Stockwell) Omiecinski and the late John Omiecinski, born on March 21st, 1942.

For many years she was the owner of Nancy’s Yarn & Gift Shop in Hudson Falls. She and the late Gordon Martin had an affinity towards each other and together they raised three children, one son and two daughters.

Nancy enjoyed being active and was always on the go. She loved knitting, crocheting, dancing and shooting pool.  She loved garage sales, shopping, going out to eat and attending the casinos with her two daughters, Carol and Jamie. Nancy was well known for her gift of gab and her kindheartedness. Nothing meant more her family. She adored her parents, her children and her grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her mother Helen Omiecinksi, her daughters Carol Martin (Chip Pregent), Jamie (Richard) Wilson, and her son John (Debbie) Martin, all of whom will miss her greatly. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren wh owill cherish her memory; Joslyn (Mark) Brown, Brandi Gitto, Paul Wilson, Jackie (Matt) Benedetti, Daniel Needham, Ashley Martin, Ryan (Marissa) Martin, Chaz Wilson, Brian Martin, Kevin Martin and Jakob Pregent great grandchildren who loved her deeply, Marky, Raelyn, Leilla, Daniel, and Ryan and an uncle Robert (Ann) Stockwell.

She also had many nieces, nephews, cousins and her family from Waterbury, Connecticut and her longtime friend Roy Sanders who all loved her dearly.

The family would like to thank Dr. Yun and Dr. Pillemer who oversaw her health during her final years in addition to the staff on floor T2 of Glens Falls Hospital for the care and compassion they provided to Nancy and her family during this difficult time. A special thanks to Lynn Zito for always being there.

She will be missed and remembered always. For all who knew her, many beautiful memories endure.

A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Following the graveside all are welcome to celebrate Nancy’s life at the VFW on Luzerne Rd in the town of Queensbury, beginning at 2 p.m.

 

Nancy’s family suggests that memorial donations be made to the CR Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801
