Mary Jane Quackenbush

Quackenbush, MaryNovember 21, 1939 – October 12, 2017

HUDSON FALLS – Mary Jane Quackenbush, 77, of Hudson Falls, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

On April 9, 1961 Mary Jane married Fred Quackenbush, and they spent 56 years together until her passing.

Mary Jane was a graduate of the Class of 1957 at St. Mary’s Institute, Amsterdam.

She was a Telephone Operator for Mohasco in Amsterdam for four years, an Assembler for CR Bard’s Manufacturing for three years in Glens Falls, and Head Cook for Washington County Head Start in Hudson Falls for twenty-five years.

Mary Jane served as a Den Mother her for Cub Scouts in Hudson Falls for six years, and a Girl Scout Leader for one year.  She was a member of the Adirondack Booster Club in Glens Falls, and the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 574 in Hudson Falls.  She loved bingo, bowling, hockey, Elvis, her family, and friends.

Mary Jane was loved by everyone, including family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her sisters, Jean Ippolito and Helen Raab.

She is survived by her brother Alexander Kryszczak; her husband, Fred; her daughter, Sherri Quackenbush, her son, Mark and his wife, Deborah Quackenbush, her son, Barry and his wife Donna Quackenbush.  Mary Jane also had grandchildren, Kristy Orr, Sean Parot, Jonathan Quackenbush, and Derek Quackenbush.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Wednesday, October 18 at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls

A Reception to follow at the American Legion Post 574, 72 Pearl Street, Hudson Falls.

The Right of committal will take place at convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.

Floral arrangements may be sent directly to St. Mary’s Church.

Mary’s family has requested donations in Mary Quackenbush’s name be made to American Legion Post 574 of Hudson Falls, 72 Pearl St., Hudson Falls, NY 12839.
