It was the summer of the landing on the moon when I first met her…
For these last 43 years, I have looked forward to every visit with her…
    She was a great conversationlist…
    Gracious, kind, full of wisdom..
… But for me…her most outstanding quality was her quiet faith…
Her life centered around her faith…
Her dwelling place, simple but comfortable and peaceful, a dwelling place displaying her faith, her hope, her love…
The fruits of her labor throughout life, most impacting my life, is the son she raised…my husband….
Who has learned her qualiities and lived them in his life…
Her life as a nurse and raising 5 children is a tribute not to be forgotten either…
May God welcome her into His Kingdom, this woman who chose to walk a simple life of faith after being widowed at an early stage in life.

Sending love and remembrance of my mother’s treasured friend Janice. If my mother could be there, she would say that your mom gave her a lifetime of friendship, and she loved her very much. My mother was blessed to have your mother and father in her life.

I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to sit and chat with your mom last year. She never changed throughout the years. She was a lovely lady with a great spirit! We had a great laugh over things that I had long forgotten!

    Coreen, your tribute was beautiful…

I will always hold the memories of my time with your family in my heart.

To the Family of Janice Herrick,

My wife and I wish to send our sincere condolences to you the family
of Janice Herrick. Following my father Walter’s death in January 1946
I left Whitehall in January 1947 with mother Viola and brother Robert
moving to Nova Scotia where mother was born. The last time I remember
visiting Janice was at a summer family picnic with uncle Harry and
aunt Mary at Lake George. I have visited Whitehall and Fort Ann
several times over the past years however, I have never had the
opertunity to visit with Janice. Janice and my sister Marcia were very
    close growing up.

Mother, Viola Balch, was sister of Mary, Anne, Arthur, Enna, Verna,
Verta and Roy. My sister Marcia and brother Robert have passed away
several years ago and my step brother John, 88, died in February 2013
so there are just my step sister Elizabeth (Beth), 87 an me left in
    the family.

    Our love to all,

    Ann & Stanley Balch
