M. Lucille Underwood

Underwood, Mary Underwood, Mary OldSOUTH GLENS FALLS – M. Lucille Underwood, 89, of White Birch Estates, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Grand at Guilderland, with her family by her side.

Born on November 24, 1928, in Glens Falls, she was the son of the late George and Ella (Heath) Crandall.

She married Philip R. Underwood on New Years day in 1950 at the Hudson Falls First Presbyterian Church, he passed away on March 5, 2005.

Mrs. Underwood worked at General Electric in Fort Edward, for 34 years.

For a number of years, she lived in Hudson Falls and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in that community. Her Veteran’s of Foreign Wars involvement took her to the office of Grand President of the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary for New York State.  On the holiday’s she would deliver flowers for Bloonies and Blooms Flower Shop and Binley Flowers.

Mrs. Underwood enjoyed Bingo and traveling.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Clarence Crandall and her son in law, Charles Montgomery.

Survivors include her five children, Joyce M. Montgomery of Gansevoort, Brenda K. Bartholomew of Mechanicville, Philip R. Underwood, Jr. of South Glens Falls, Robert Scott Underwood and his wife, Naomi of Carthage and Patricia A. Underwood and her companion, Mike Harrington of South Glens Falls; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister, Eunice Kill and her husband, Tom of Johnsburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m.  on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Duell Rd. in Stillwater.

Following the burial, all are welcome to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club 80 Main St, South Glens Falls, for a celebration of her life.
