Lydia Rice

BENNINGTON, VT AND GREENWICH –Lydia Rice, 87, of most recently Queensbury, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Glens Falls Hospital, following a short illness.

Born on November 14, 1925, in North Adams, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Brown) Jackson.

Lydia married Mark Rice on January 18, 1946, in North Adams, Massachusetts.

She was an avid reader, and enjoyed tending to the yard.  Taking care of her family was her life.  She was dedicated to her family and will be greatly missed.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, George Jackson and her granddaughter, Aimee Lambert.

Survivors include her four children, Donald Rice and his wife, Norma of Ballston Spa, Stephen Rice and his wife, LouAnne of Queensbury, Susan Lambert and her husband, Louis of South Glens Falls, David Rice of South Glens Falls; her two grandchildren, Mark Lambert, and Johana Lambert; her brother, Edwin Jackson of Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family of Lydia may call on Saturday, August 17, 2013, from 12-1p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls. 

Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery.
