Family was by far the most important thing in Lorraine’s life.  She cherished every moment spent with them.  She looked forward to Sunday dinners, family parties and just talking and reminiscing about the past.

Besides her parents, Lorraine was predeceased in death by her husband, Preston L. Jenkins; two daughters Patricia Lee Jenkins, Lois Jeanne Willis; sister, Betty Meade;  a “Special” sister, Angela  Dickinson; her brothers, John Dickinson, Myron Dickinson, and Thomas Dickinson; and grandchildren, Michael Willis, Misty Willis, and Nicole Jenkins.

She is survived by eight loving children; Florence Beecher and her husband, Michael of South Glens Falls, Preston L Jenkins Jr. and his wife, Mary of South Glens Falls, Catherine Fleming and her husband Ken of Glens Falls, Lorry Malan and her husband, John of Hudson Falls, Albert Jenkins of West Fort Ann, Timothy Jenkins and his wife, Cindy of Fort Ann, Trudi Moyer and her husband, Douglas of South Glens Falls, and Beth Simpson and her husband, Vincent of Philmont; a son in law, Charles Willis;  her sisters, Rita Porteous, Sally Gleason, Patricia Havens, and Virginia Hill; and brother in law, Theodore Meade.

Lorraine was the proud and loving grandmother to thirty two grandchildren, sixty (soon to be 61) great-grandchildren and ten (soon to be 11) great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call today (Monday) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeffrey Stratton, pastor of South Glens Falls United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Lorraine’s family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 226, Fort Edward, NY or the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574, Pearl St., Hudson Falls, NY  12839.
