Joseph M. Henderson

HendersonHUDSON FALLS – Joseph M. Henderson, Sr., 50, of Combs Avenue, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving son, on Saturday, August 17, 2013.

Born on August 7, 1963, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late James and Shirley (LaRich) Henderson.

Joe attended South Glens Falls High School.  He then enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for four years.

Joe was a construction worker for most of his life.  He loved snowmobiling.  Joe worked hard and played hard.  He enjoyed life, there was never a dull moment.  Life was always a lot more interesting, when Joe was near.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Norma Henderson.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph M. Henderson, II of Hudson Falls; his siblings, Dianne Persons and her husband, Ken of Warrensburg, Jim Henderson of Colorado, Gail Paquette and her husband, Don of Fort Edward and Sam Henderson of Hudson Falls; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 22, 2013, from 11 to 1 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street Hudson Falls.

Memorial services will follow the calling hours on Thursday, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

The family would like to thank Dr. Pillemer and his staff at the CR Wood Cancer Center for the wonderful care and compassion gavin to Joe and his family.

    So sorry to hear of your loss!! I had the opportunity to meet Joe through work, and although I did not know him well, he was always a gentleman! I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face! My thoughts are with the family!

    I had the great opportunity to have the wonderful son that Joseph Sr so magnificently brought up, work for me for several years.

    Although I never met Joseph SR, I feel I know him because I have had the great opportunity to really know his fantastic son,

    May God Bless Joseph Sr and my prayers and sympathy go out and my arms wrap around my Joseph Jr.
