Jerry “Joe” Phillips

Phillips,JerryHUDSON FALLS – Jerry “Joe: Phillips, 62, of John St., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on July 17, 1953, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Phelps) Phillips.

Joe was known as “Mr. Fix it” and loved working with his hand and building things. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars.

Although he loved hunting and fishing, Joe’s greatest joy was to be with his children and grandchildren. He was also very proud to have beaten lung cancer

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Ernest, Charles, Robert and Earl Phillips and his sisters, Sylvia, Priscilla and Ernesta Phillips.

He is survived by his companion of 24 years, Lois Olden of Hudson Falls; his daughters, Jillian Phillips-Turner of Glens Falls, Justine Phillips of Clifton Park and Gerri Ann Phillips of Coxsackie; his sons, Matt Carpenter of Queensbury, Joseph Phillips of Glens Falls, and Craig and Cody Olden of Hudson Falls; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers, Edward Phillips of Fort Edward and Dennis Phillips of Hudson Falls; his sisters, Margaret Rawlins of Queensbury, Patricia Reed of Queensbury and Betty Cota of Vergennes, VT,; several nieces, nephews and cousins and his good friend and ex-wife, Mary Phillips of Hudson Falls; and his best friends Royce Olden and George Troumbley

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours on Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be private.

Memorial donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the CR Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801

    Dad I miss you soooo much already I love you more than words could even explain I know you are still with me and your given me the strength to get through this thank you sooo much for be a wonderful amazing father and grand father you will be sooo missed by us all Javontae Brooklyn and I love you with all our hearts and souls always! !!!
