Hubert E. Latterell

LatterellFORT EDWARD – Hubert E. Latterell, 81, of Fort Edward, passed away, peacefully, on Sunday, December 27, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 9, 1934, in Waybridge, VT, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary (Cenate) Latterell.

Hubert served his country in the United States Army.

In November of 1959, he married Janet Zakeski.

For 53 years, he was employed by Yank Waste, Hubert worked right up until last Thursday and loved his job as a mechanic.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and bowling.

Hubert will be remembered for being a hardworking and wonderful man.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Barry Michael Latterell, his brothers, Ward Latterell and Meryl Latterell and his sister, Betty Burkhardt.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet Latterell of Fort Edward; his children, Marsha Latterell Morse and her husband, Butch of Whitehall, Debrah McMurry of Fort Edward, Robin Rabine and her significant other, Richard Purdy of Fort Edward, Hubert Latterell, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Hudson Falls, Stacey Odgen and her significant other, Michael Papa of Fort Edward; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Holden of Wilton, Patricia Burns and her husband, James of Hudson Falls and Barbara Edwards of Hudson Falls; his brother, Jesse Latterell and his wife, Sylvia of Fort Edward; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special friends, Judy and Barry Estes of Texas.

At Hubert’s request, there are no services scheduled.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Memorial donations may be sent to the CR Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
