Herald C. Vaughn

Vaughn Herald Vaughn Herald 1KINGSBURY – Herald C. Vaughn, of Kingsbury, 95, passed on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born January 18, 1921, in Kingsbury, he was the son of the Forrest and Mary (Wooley) Vaughn.

Herald was a graduate of White Bear Lake High School in MN and also attended Albany Business College.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1940 to 1946 as a Boatswain’s Mate First Class, during World War II.

On December 7, 1958, he married Lola O’Connell at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.

Herald was a carpenter at Local 291 and a millwright for R.D. Larrow Construction.
He enjoyed working in his wood shop and was a great craftsman.  In his younger years, Herald enjoyed snowmobiling.  He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Floyd Vaughn, his mother in law, Jane Hanley, his sister in law, Mary Bemis and his brothers in law, Chucky Bemis, Jon Hall and Willis O’Connell.

Survivors include his wife, Lola (O’Connell) Vaughn of Kingsbury; his children, David Vaughn and his wife, Kathy of Queensbury., Susan Bolton of Brant Lake, Darrin Vaughn of Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Vaughn, B.J. and Zachary Bolton, Nicole and Shannon Vaughn; and his great granddaughter, Violet Clunis.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

The funeral service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Burial will take place in the spring at Kingsbury Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

Herald’s family would like to thank Holly Vaughn, Neeland Fuller, the Glens Falls Hospital Emergency Care Center and Tower Three for all the great care given to him.
