SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Helen Patrecia “Pat” Havens, 78, of Harrison Avenue, went home to the Lord with her family by her side, at her home, on Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

Born on August 22, 1935 in Fenimore, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Helen (Lapointe) Dickinson, Sr.

 In 1953, Pat graduated from Hudson Falls High School.

On August 31, 1958, she married Asher Havens at the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church.   He passed away in 1995.

For ten years, Pat was a cashier at the former Joy Store in South Glens Falls.   After the store’s closing, she was employed at NAMIC for almost five years and then until 2002, Pat was a cashier at the Hannaford Supermarket in Queensbury.

She attended the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hudson Falls American Legion Post #574.

Pat loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   She enjoyed swimming in her pool and traveling with her best friend, Marion Doyle.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two infant children, Angel Lynn, died in 1968 and Adam Spencer, who died in 1967, her brothers, Myron Dickinson, John James, Jr., Thomas Dickinson; her sisters, Betty Jane Meade, Lorraine Jenkins; and her sister in law, Angela Dickinson

Survivors include her seven children, Asher S. Havens, II and his wife, Diana of Claremore, OK, Patrecia-Anne T. Jackson and her husband, Bill of Framingham, MA, Andrew S. Havens and his wife, Tracy of South Glens Falls, Anthony S. Havens and his wife, Suzanne of South Glens Falls, Aaron S. Havens and his wife, Stephanie of Tucson, AZ, Adam S. Havens and his wife, Annette of Syracuse and Alicemarie L. Johnston and her husband, Curt of South Glens Falls; her 14 grandchildren, Asher S. Havens, III,  Jolene M. Havens, Casey L. Jackson, Zachary C. Havens, Andrew S. Havens, II, Anthony P. Jackson, Sabrina L. Havens, Nicholas J. Havens, Brianna P. Jackson, Alec S. Havens, Tyler A. Havens, Alison S. Havens, Ian T. Johnson and Chadwick M. Havens; her great grandchildren, Alourah S. Havens, Asher S. Havens, IV, Hannah M. Burch and Andrew S. Havens, Mackenzie Burch, Jack Wolf, Emma I. Havens, Adrian Havens, Sierra Shannon, Cheyanne Shannon;her three sisters, Rita Porteous of Fort Ann, Sally Gleason of South Glens Falls and Ginny Hill of Fenimore; her brother in law, Ted Meade of South Glens Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, at the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church, 15 Maplewood Parkway in South Glens Falls.

Burial will be at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to South Glens Falls United Methodist Church, 15 Maplewood Parkway, South Glens Falls, New York 12803, or Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, New York 12205.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

    It is with a very heavy heart that I say my final fare well to my wonderful and beloved grandmother who meant a great deal and everything more. I am very grateful for the moments that spent with her and I will always love her with all of my heart, mind, and soul. May God bless her as always and may she rest in peace.

    We are very sorry to hear about the loss of a love one. She was a very nice lady and we were please to known her She is now with all the angel in the sky without any more pain. We know you have a lot of memories of her to treasure.She will always be in your hearts and will never be forgotten.
