Evelyn “Evie” (Havens) Baker

Baker, EvelynGLENS FALLS – Evelyn Evie (Havens) Baker, 77, of Glens Falls, went into the arms of the Lord, unexpectedly on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on November 20, 1938, in Hudson Falls she was the daughter  of the late, Delbert and Isabelle (MacDonald) Havens.

Evie was a member of the Hudson Falls Senior High Class of 1957.

She worked for Gruber’s Shirt Factory in Hudson Falls for many years and then Troy Shirt Factory in Whitehall.

Evie enjoyed reading, crafts, quilting, Sudoku and playing cards and enjoyed attending the Northway Christian Family Church in Queensbury.  Her greatest love was time spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Baker, her brother, Lawrence “Shorty” Havens and a niece Tammy Havens.

She is survived by her children, Jeffery Harrington and his wife, Amy of South Glens Falls, Kimberly Seaman and her husband, Edward of Radcliff, KY,  Lisa Wallace and her fiancée, John McGarvey of Scarborough, Maine and Denise Clark and her husband, David of Fort Edward; her grandchildren, Joshua Harrington and Zachary Harrington of South Glens Falls, Adam Seaman, Megan Downs, Ryan Seaman, Jordan Seaman, Anna Seaman of Radcliff, Kentucky, Patrick Wallace of Tempe, AZ and Lauren Wallace, serving with the United States Navy at Yokisuka Naval Base in Japan; two special great grandchildren, Emily Seaman and Theodore Downs; her siblings, Janet Sutliff and her husband, Larry of Hudson Falls and Wayne Havens, Sr. and his wife, Sherry of Hudson Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Suzanne Lacatenia, of Northway Christian Family Church in Queensbury, officiating.

Burial will be at a later date at Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall.

Memorial donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.

    Sorry to read about Evelyn’s passing. I knew her when we were in high school together and at the Durkeetown Barn Dances. My condolences to the family.
