Eva O. Brown

brownQUEENSBURY – Eva O. Brown, 92, a longtime Queensbury resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January. 22, 2016.

Born on February 5, 1923, in Queensbury, she was the daughter of the late Ovide and Mary (Jensen) Prince.

Eva was a graduate of Glens Falls High School.

On December 15, 1946, she married O’Neil Brown at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. They had met while out square dancing and for their honeymoon they traveled to New York City and square danced to the music of Guy Lombardo and His Orchestra.   O’Neil passed away on October 1, 2009.

Eva worked for General Electric, Clark Brothers Glove Factory in Glens Falls and retired from J & J Lingerie also in Glens Falls.

Eva will be remembered most for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put everyone else ahead of herself. She is fondly remembered for her warm, wonderful smile and loving disposition.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings, Emede Prince, Ovide Prince, Jr., Emma Johnson, Frederick Prince and a daughter in law, Vicki Brown.

She is survived by her children, Fred Brown and his wife, Doreen of Bolton Landing, Connie Thompson and her husband, Bruce of Pompano Beach, FL and Beth Hajeck and her husband, Dan of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Dr. Ashli Brown and her husband Casey Johnson, Lexi North, Enjae Sabo, Danika Hajeck, Christopher Hajeck; a great-grandson, Ryan North; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday January 27, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

She will be interred with her beloved husband at a later date at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Veteran’s Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

Eva’s family suggests that memorial donations in her memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675 or the Greater Glens Falls Senior Citizens Center, 380 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801

Her family wishes to sincerely thank the nurses and aides at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home, especially Jean, whose love and compassion was so appreciated.

    I have many fond memories of my aunt when we lived on Carroll St. It was always fun when we visited through the years when we visited from Syracuse.

    im sorry i couldnt make it to the service had to work i really wanted to be there she had a very special place in my heart and will miss her like crazy rip my sweet lady i will never forget u ty to her family for letting me be part of her life and taking care of her i love u my girl
