Edith Clara Gaulin

Gaulin, EdityFORT EDWARD – Edith Clara Gaulin, 99, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016, at her home.

Born on August 13, 1917, in Kingsbury, she was the daughter of the late Clara I. Dennison and Robert J. Andrews.

On June 1, 1936, she married her beloved husband, Donald Gaulin.

She had several hobbies, Edith loved to knit and crochet and was an avid reader (romance novels being her favorite) and loved crossword puzzles.

Later in life, she collected Fenton Glass Bells, Birds and Shoes.  Edith loved her poodles and her cat “Boots”, also nature and watching birds at her many bird feeders.  Growing African violets was also her passion, Edith would fill her home with them.

Edith’s favorite times were spent with her family during weekends at her camp at Hadlock Pond.  Taking long walks around the lake, picking wild flowers with her grandchildren and visiting neighbors were highlights of her weekends on Hadlock.

Edith was also involved with the local fire department, where her husband, Donald was a volunteer for many years, they were faithful to attend many of the events for the fire department.  In her older years, she enjoyed her morning “tea group” at McDonalds.

In addition to her parents and husband, Donald, she was predeceased by her daughter, Elaine Henderson and several brothers.

She is survived by her son, Paul D. Gaulin and his wife, June; her grandchildren, Chris Bazan, Deborah Norton (Kerry), Theresa Brilyea (LeRoy), Bob Bazan (Judy), Daniel Gaulin (Lynn), Tami Lacombe (Rick) and Mary Gaulin; her many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews; also her dear friend, Eleanor Pearson.

The Rite of Committal will be conducted 1 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Memorial donations may be sent the animal shelter of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
