SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Diana Lynn Morrissey passed away in the early hours of June 21, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. As with everything Diana did, she met the challenge of cancer with strength and dignity.

Diana leaves behind a grieving family who will miss her forever. Her beloved husband Stephen; her mother Arlene (Schlaeg) Mayer; her brothers Wayne Schlaeg, Eric (Karen) Schlaeg, John (Tina) Schlaeg; nieces Amanda and Lindsey Schlaeg; nephews Eric M., Ryan and Samuel Schlaeg; and her “daughter dog,” Cody.

Diana was predeceased by her grandparents, Frederick and Irene Mayer and Walter and Charlotte Schlaeg; her father Hans Schlaeg; a nephew Hunter Schlaeg and her dogs, Casey, Patsy and Abby.

Born on Long Island, NY, she moved upstate 5 months later. Somehow she brought with her a Long Island accent of which she was very proud,

She grew up in Brant Lake, NY and graduated with high honors from North Warren School. She and Stephen met working at Diana’s first job and have been together ever since.  The loved  to travel here and abroad.

Diana continued her education through college courses and loved learning. She worked in the legal field, working for Martin Pozefsky, Esq. at the time her illness began.

Diana had a great sense of humor, and through the years given to her she saw the world through her own special viewpoints.

Diana has moved on and there are no words to express the sorrow of those left behind.

Services are private.

In her honor and due to her great love and compassion for animals, donations may be made to the local animal shelter or Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your dear Diana. I hope that your family will find comfort in the words of Jesus at John 5:28,29 where he promised that the day is coming when he is going to resurrect back to life those in the grave. Until that day, it is just like they are sleeping. (John 11:11-13) May your family draw strength from Jehovah, the God of all Comfort.

Arlene, Wayne, Eric, John, Amanda and Lindsey,

Words can’t express how extremely sad I am for your loss. Diana was an amazing person full of drive and stamina. She worked hard with a smile on her face and was never afraid to speak her mind. You always knew where you stood with her. She made me laugh at things she would say behind “closed doors”… LOL!!! May you all find strength in each other in your sincere time of grief.

    My deepest regrets.
