Denise M. Flores

imageGLENS FALLS – Denise M. Flores, 62, of Glens Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Washington Center in Argyle, where she was recovering from a stroke.

Born on July 22, 1953, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Jeanette (Colvin) Flores.

Denise loved to grocery shop, playing hide and seek in the aisles, so she could shop longer. She was a loving and forgiving mom, with a big heart and an adoring grandmother. Denise will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Over the years, she has opened her door and her heart to many neighborhood children, that considered her, their second mom.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant sister and her aunts, Loretta Angus, Mary Barlow, Betty Scally and Sandra Chilson.

She is survived by her two sons, Arthur Smith and his wife, Shauna of Ticonderoga and Joseph Smith and his fiancée, Magen Taft of Hudson Falls; her three grandchildren, Haiden Smith, Ariel and Cole Smith; her two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Flores and his wife, Diane of Hudson Falls and Tracy Flores and his wife, Lynn of Fort Edward; the father of her children, Arthur Henry Smith of Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many wonderful friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, from 10 to 12 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Graveside services will follow the calling hours on Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Because of her love of nature’s beautiful landscape, the family appreciates any flowers sent to the funeral home in Denise’s memory.
