Daniel Bennett

Bennett, DanielGLENS FALLS – Daniel Bennett, 77, of Glens Falls, passed away on December 28, 2017 at Albany Medical Center, after a courageous battle of cancer.

Born on July 15, 1940, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Harry O. and Buelah (Galusha) Bennett.

After graduating from Queensbury High School in 1960, Dan enlisted in the United States Air Force.   He proudly served his country until 1964, when he was honorably discharged.

In 1967, he married Jean M. Bolster at West Glens Falls Community Chapel.

Dan worked for many years at General Electric Co in Hudson Falls and then transferred to Fort Edward. 

When Dan had time off, he loved to relax by hunting, fishing and camping.  His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.  They were the center of his life.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Donna Wall.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Bennett of Glens Falls; his three daughters, Ann Marie Bennett of Glens Falls, Paula Petro and her husband, John of Mineville and Danette Fisk and her husband, Michael of Hudson Falls; five grandchildren, John Petro, III, Derek Petro, Kevin Royce, Desiray Royce and Michael Fisk; his brothers, Richard Bennett and his wife, Charlene of Florida, Kenneth Bennett of Fort Edward and Leon Bennett, also of Fort Edward; his two sisters, Bonnie Crannell and her husband, Bruce of Corinth and Pam Gonzalez of Utah; his half brother, Charles Flanagan and his wife, Yolanda of CA; his half sister, Teal Dunbar of TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2017 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

In Dan’s honor, the family wishes you cherish the time you spend with your family.

Arrangements are under the care of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

    Aunt Jean and girls, I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Dan was definitely a fighter for sure! Be at peace knowing he is no longer suffering and is happy and healthy with loved ones who also have passed. You are all in my prayers for strength and complete peace in this difficult time. I knew Dan when I was really young and I remember his happy laugh and his glorious smile. I pray the memories you have of him will help you thru this lost. God bless yall and I wish you peace!!!

    Jean and family, I am so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. I truly know what you are going through, I lost my husband on Dec. 6.     I am so sorry for your loss. From all you said over the years he was a real fighter. He is at peace now with friends and loved ones. Remember all of the good times you had together and with your sense of humor and fun I bet there are many stories to tell.
