Concetta Fusco

SAYVILLE/FORT EDWARD – Concetta Fusco, 98, a longtime Sayville, Long Island resident and most recently of the Fort Hudson Healthcare Facility in Fort Edward, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Born on May 13, 1915 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Jeannette (DeRiso) Caruso.

In 1937, she married Salvatore Fusco on Long Island.  He died in November of 2006.  Together they enjoyed 69 years of marriage.

Mrs. Fusco and her husband operated a truck farm, growing vegetables in West Sayville, Long Island.

She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Sayville.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her children, Carmela Fusco Hoek and her husband, Robert of Oakdale, Joseph Fusco and his wife, Connie of Queensbury and Jeanne Fusco Salvatore and her husband, James of West Sayville; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Calling hours will also take place at the Raynor and D’Andrea Funeral Home, 245 Montauk Highway in West Sayville, Long Island.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in West Sayville, Long Island.

The Rite of Committal will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Sayville, New York.

Mrs. Fusco’s family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 79 Glenwood Ave.,  2nd Floor, Queensbury, NY 12804.
