GLENS FALLS – Christopher David Bates, 43, of William Street, died at his home, with his family around him, on Monday, September 7, 2015.
Born on April 9, 1972, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Dave and Alice (Chatterton) Bates.
Christopher was a 1990 Graduate of Glens Falls High School.
He loved spending time at Indian Lake, attending rock concerts, listening to the Grateful Dead and most of all, fishing and camping with his kids, Dylan, Andy and Elise “Goosey”.
Christopher is survived by the most important people in his life, his children, Dylan Thomas Henry Bates, Andrew Logan Bates and his greatest love, Elise Lindsey “Goosey” Bates, all of Glens Falls; his parents, Dave and Alice Bates of Glens Falls; his grandmother, Shirley Bates of Queensbury; his siblings, Chad Bates and his wife, Dorey of Hudson Falls, Jamie Bates, Nick Bates and Olivia Anna Bates, all of Glens Falls and Josh Bates and his wife, Jennette Bates of Crochecton; his nephew, Pauly of Glens Falls; his nieces, baby Dakota of Glens Falls, Syd of Queensbury, Adriana of Crochecton, and Persephony of Ohio; and several aunts and uncles and cousins.
There will be a celebration of Christopher’s life at a later date.
The family encourages memorial donations be sent to aid Christopher’s children to the Dylan, Andrew and Elise Fund, C/O Glens Falls National Bank, 250 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

Chris, There are no words to express, how are all hearts are braking. These last few days, I’ve learn how truly loved you are by not only your family, but your endless friends. You’ve touched the hearts of so many. You’ve left so many memories for everyone to cherish. Thank you for everyone you’ve given me.

Incredibly hard to grasp that such a bright light has gone out. The out pouring of love and condolences is a reminder of the many many people you have touched along the way. My hope for your loved ones is that when all the noise settles down they are able to hear you again in their own personal ways.
