Henry A. Coulombe

Coulombe, HenryHUDSON FALLS – Henry A. Coulombe, 71, of Hudson Falls, passed away on April 4, 2017, at Albany Medical Hospital.

Born on February 7, 1946, in Burlington, VT, he was the son of George and Pauline Coulombe Bombard.

Henry proudly served in the U.S. Army Engineers, in the Vietnam War.

In 1989, Henry was united in marriage to Priscilla Knobel, in Hudson Falls.

He retired from Hill and Markes in Amsterdam.

Henry was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, restoring muscle cars, and was a past member of “Memories on Wheels” Car Club.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Priscilla Coulombe of Hudson Falls; his children, Kristina Burger and her husband, Mike of Adams, Christopher Irish of Round Lake, Janet Abbott and her husband Joe of Belleville, and Thomas Irish and his wife, Katie of Schuylerville; his grandchildren and great grandchild; his siblings, Donald “Butch” Coulombe and his wife, Reta of California, Armond Dion and his wife, Pam of North Carolina, John Dion of Amsterdam, Paul Dion and is wife, Vickie of Amsterdam, Cathy Nowlcki and her husband, Chuck of Amsterdam, and Pauline Slot and her husband John of Rensselaerville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Gospel Lighthouse Assembly of God Church at 30 La Cross St in Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will take place immediately following calling hours at 12 p.m. at church, with the Reverend Paul Mead officiating.

A burial, with military honors, will take place on Friday, at 2 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Duell Rd in the town of Stillwater.

Sandra (Juckett) Benson

Benson, SandraHUDSON FALLS – Sandra (Juckett) Benson, 78, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 18, 1938, in Hudson Falls, he was the daughter of the late Donald and Gladys (Wells) Juckett.

Sandra received her bachelor’s in secondary education from Albany State. She taught school until she began to raise her family. In later years, she returned to the school system and started working in the administrative office, and ended her career as a secretary at Maple Street School.

Her husband, Gary Benson passed away on July 19, 2014, after 53 years of marriage.

Sandra was a member of the United Methodist Church, she was very active in the United Methodist Woman, served as church treasure for many years, and was active in all aspects of church life.

Survivors include, her children, Jeffrey Benson and his wife, Holly of Durkeetown, Stacey Benson Doty and her husband, Rick of Fort Edward, and Lori Benson of Fort Edward; her grandchildren, Sara Morgan Pulver, Jasmine Doty, Ethan Doty, and Molly Doty; her two brothers, Donald Juckett and his wife, Rosemary of Springfield, VA, and Lynn Juckett and his wife, Karen of Little Rock, AR; a sister in law, Donna Keck of Athol; her very close cousin, Carolyn Dorrance of South Glens Falls; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church at 227 Main Street, with the Reverend Derek Hansen, officiating.

The burial will take place later in the spring at Moss Street Cemetery.

Geraldine (Infield) LaPoint

LaPointFORT EDWARD – Geraldine (Infield) LaPoint, 94, formerly of Burgoyne Avenue, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox, MA.

Born on June 26, 1922 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Lena (Bombard) Infield.

Geraldine was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School, class of 1939. The following year, on November 21, 1940, she married Harlan LaPoint at St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls. He passed away on March 7, 2007, after 67 wonderful years of marriage.

Geraldine worked at the Hudson Falls Central School cafeteria and the Fort Hudson Health Care
Facility food service. She loved both jobs, as it gave her the opportunity to interact with children and the elderly.

Geraldine was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church and belonged to the Court Mater Dei Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the 60 Plus Senior Citizens of Hudson Falls and Fort Edward.

Her enjoyments included bowling, knitting, playing cards and performing in various minstrel shows in the area. Geraldine loved singing in the minstrel group while her husband, Harlan played the guitar.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Leona Hubbard and her four brothers, Donald Infield, William Infield, Gerald Infield and Harold Infield.

Surviors include her son, David LaPoint and his wife, Joyce of Fort Mill, SC: her two daughters, Sister Maria Jude, CSJ of McSherrystown, PA and Pamela Mackie and her husband, David of Lenox MA; her three grandchildren, Kari Pons and her husband, Rob of Mashpee, MA, Jeffrey LaPoint and his wife, Catherine of Charlotte, NC and Sean Mackie and his fiancée, Lani of Taunton, MA: three great-grandchildren, Bryce LaPoint of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Pons of Mashpee, MA, and Megan Pons of Mashpee, MA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls, NY.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, April 7, 2017, following the calling hour at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at Union Cemetery in the Town of Fort Edward.
