Edward A. “Eddie” Gordon, Jr.

GordonHUDSON FALLS – Edward A. “Eddie” Gordon, Jr., 58, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in New York City.
Born on March 12, 1955, in Glens Falls he was the son of Edward A. Gordon, Sr. and the late Patricia (Barney) Gordon.

Eddie was a 1973 graduate of Hudson Falls Senior High School.

He served as a professional firefighter for the village of Hudson Falls for many years and also served as a dispatcher for the Washington County Department of Public Safety.

Eddie was active with the American Red Cross and loved spending time with people.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristen Gordon and Paige Longden, both of Hudson Falls; his father, Edward A. Gordon, Sr. of Hudson Falls; his sister Patricia Kilmer and her husband, Steve of Hudson Falls; his brother, Thomas Gordon of Queensbury; his nephews, Joel Davis and his wife Jolene and their children, Moriah, Mallory and Joseph, Greg Davis and his fiancé, Vanessa Dwyer and Nathaniel Kilmer; his niece, Liza; his aunts, Hazxel Hydeman of Erie, PA and Shirley Sawn of Glens Falls; several cousins and many friends.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park, in Hudson Falls with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

Following the Rite of Committal, all are welcome to a gathering at McManus Hall, located next to St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.

The Hudson Falls Volunteer Fire Department and Support group will meet at 6 P.M. on Friday evening at the funeral home to pay their respects.
Being a very caring person, it was Eddie’s wish to donate whatever organs could be used to help others. Because of this gesture, someone received the necessary organs to be able to see again. Eddie would like you all to consider this.

Mary Louise Fish

MFishHUDSON FALLS – Mary Louise Fish, 84, of Dix Avenue, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 16, 2013.

Born on February 23, 1929, in Fenimore, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Ellen (Lewis) Smith.

She was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School. In 1946, she married Jerry Fish at the Gospel Lighthouse Assemblies of God Church in Hudson Falls. He passed away in 1996. Mary was employed at Imperial Paint and Paper formerly in Queensbury and then Arkell and Smith, which was later known as Chase Bag, formerly in the town of Moreau.

She was a lifetime member of the Gospel Lighthouse Assemblies of God Church in Hudson Falls. After her husband retired, they enjoyed traveling. Mary liked knitting and crocheting things, especially for her grandchildren. She was a kind and thoughtful lady who was well thought of by everyone who knew her, especially her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her son, Neal Fish and his wife, Lynne of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Briana Willigan and her husband, Michael, Darren Fish and his fiancé Katrina Mraz and Blake Fish and his wife, Christy; her great-grandchildren, Nathan Willigan and Morgan Willigan; her brother, Phillip Smith and his wife, Phyllis of Hudson Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Gospel Lighthouse Church on Lacrosse St. in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Paul Mead, pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

Timothy J. Mulcahy, Sr.

MulcahyGLENS FALLS – Timothy J. Mulcahy, Sr., 71, of Glens Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Tim was the son of the late Jeremiah and Catherine (Linehan) Mulcahy.

In 1963, he married Darlene Holmes at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

For 13 years, Tim worked for the Glens Falls Sewer Department and then for Iron Clad Cement in Glens Falls from 1969 to 2002.

He enjoyed assisting Robert Leary and Teamer Lazure with the Boxing Club in Glens Falls.  His other enjoyments include camping, fishing, hunting and watching WWE.

Besides his parents, Tim was predeceased by his son, Timothy Mulcahy, Jr. and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Darlene (Holmes) Mulcahy of Glens Falls; his children, Robert Mulcahy of South Glens Falls, Melissa Mulcahy of Glens Falls and Michael Mulcahy and his wife, Iris of West Virginia; his grandchildren, Zachary Mulcahy of Glens Falls, Timothy M. Mulcahy of NYC, Tiffany and Hemant Kasare of South Glens Falls, Brett Mulcahy of WV, Jessica Mulcahy, Samantha Mulcahy, Rebecca Mulcahy, Kyle Mulcahy, Tyler Mulcahy and Sira Senatore, all of Corinth; and his great grandchildren, Kendall, Amelia, Zoey and Madeline.

Friends may call on Saturday from 11 to 2 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, following the calling hours, at the funeral home, with Deacon William Bazinet, officiating.

David W. Fisk

FiskFORT EDWARD – David W. Fisk, 66, of Fort Edward, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Albany Medical Center, on Sunday, June 9, 2013, following a long illness.

He was born May 15, 1947, to the late DeWitt H. and Mary Joyce (Meneely) Fisk. 

David was a 1965 graduate of Fort Edward High School.  He was employed by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 229.  David was well known for his workmanship on local dams, water treatment plants, schools and churches in the area.  Early in his carrier, David worked with his dad and uncle, at Fisk Construction Company, in Hudson Falls.

He was a strong advocate of the right to bear arms.  David was extremely proud of his Life Membership in the National Rifle Association.  He was a past member of the Hartford Fish and Game Club and was a pistol safety training instructor in the 1980’s.

David was also a major contributor to the Salvation Army Food Pantry.  He truly had a heart for the needs of the local community.  Most recently, David resided at Adirondack Manor in Queensbury.

David is survived by his daughter and son in law, Sara and Brian Lange of Utica; his granddaughters, Avery Ruth Lange and Riley Joyce Lange, both of Utica; his former wife, Linda (Evens) Fisk of Utica; his sister and brother in law, Betty and Michael Girard of Fort Edward; his nephews, Dalton Girard and Spencer Girard, both of Fort Edward; his beloved aunt, Betty Hoffis of South Glens Falls; his beloved uncle and aunt, Fred and Olga Fisk of Gansevoort; and several cousins.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Interment services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Road, with Pastor Regina Haag, officiating.

David’s family wishes to thank the surgical staff at Albany Medical Center, especially the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit for their outstanding care and compassion shown to David and his family at this difficult time.

Arthur Carter

CarterGLENS FALLS – Arthur Carter, 79, of Platt Street, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Arthur was born on December 16, 1934, he was the son of Margaret (Jones) Carter.

He resided at Platt Street IRA for years.  While residing at Platt Street, he formed many bonding relationships with peers and staff.  Arthur was a quiet, gentle man, who enjoyed music of all types, liked to go to dances and attending local festivities.  Arthur also loved candy.  He was retired and enjoyed being at home with housemates and sleeping in on quiet mornings.  His playful loving ways will be missed by all.

 Arthur is survived by his extended family at Platt Street, many of whom he referred to as “hey mister” or “hey lady”.  Yet he knew who you were upon hearing your voice or feeling your touch, as he was blind.

Calling hours will be on Monday, June 10, 2013 from 1 to 2 pm at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. 

Funeral services will follow the calling hour on Monday, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Street in Glens Falls.

A reception will follow the funeral services at 74 Platt Street in Glens Falls, anyone and all are welcome to attend.

Anita P. (Swan) Baldwin

FORT ANN – Anita P. (Swan) Baldwin, 75, of Buttermilk Falls Road, passed away on, Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at her home.

She was born on December 31, 1937, in Rutland, VT to the late Frederick W. and Anna (Lareau) Swan.

Arrangements are pending with the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.

Rebecca D. Rivers

RRiversHUDSON FALLS – Rebecca D. Rivers, 47, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013, at her home.

Born on March 30, 1966, in Lake George, she was the daughter of Mary (Lord) Woodard of Fort Edward and the late Gerald Brooks.

Rebecca married Bill Rivers in 1984.

She worked for Joy Store, formerly located in South Glens Falls and Eckerd, formerly located in Hudson Falls.

Her enjoyments included playing bingo and a Mountain Dew every day.

In addition to her father she is also predeceased by a brother, Gerald Brooks, Jr.

Rebecca is survived by her husband of 29 years, Bill Rivers of Hudson Falls; her mother, Mary Woodard of Fort Edward; two sons, Billy Rivers, Jr. and his companion, Brittne of Hudson Falls and Brian Rivers of Hudson Falls; two granddaughters, Autumn Skye Rivers and Delila “Pookie” Rivers; a brother, Michael Morrill and his wife, Lisa of Bloomingburg, NY; a sister Susan Lewis and her husband, Warren of Fort Edward; a brother Scott Brooks and his wife, Leslie of South Glens Falls; and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins  brothers and sisters in law.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

The West Fort Ann Fire Department will meet Wednesday evening at 5:45 P.M. at the funeral home to pay their respects.

A funeral service will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening (following the calling hours) at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
